"The Rebirth" is a self portrait at 42, after giving up on my dreams as an artist 20 years ago. NFTs giving power back to the artists became the catalyst for this rebirth as an artist, after lying dormant. My newfound love for web3 technology and NFTs has given me hope to pursue my dreams as an artist.

This piece is somewhat of a new beginning.

The backstory: I went back to my homeland of Thailand at the age of 24 and ended up staying til I was 30. The last 3 years there I got into hard drugs and hit rock bottom. Was arrested one night at a random police stop, and I hard drugs on me. So delusional from 3 nights with no sleep I forgot I had 15k baht cash on me and could have easily paid the cops off with 2k baht. I was sent to a place only nightmares are made of.

Long story short, we ate out of the same buckets we used to get water to bathe and wash our butts after going number 2. Everyone slept in one large, gym-sized cage. No security inside. Ran by a few notorious gangs of Bangkok. Saw kids that went mental after 2 days in that place. Maybe I’ll give more details in another portrtait of this experience.

So this is me at 32 after coming back to the states to help run my sisters second restaurant. adulting and off drugs for one and a half years. It was like being born again.
